Gratitude and Teamwork in Action.
Mosaic is proudly sponsored by St. John's Episcopal Church. While Mosaic is not a religious group, we maintain a strong and meaningful relationship with St. John's. Thanks to their generosity, we are able to use their facilities to host many of our events.
In gratitude for St. John's open-hearted support, we strive to be good stewards of the space they lend us. We actively assist their vestry (board members) with various projects, which you can explore below.
Interested in getting involved? We’re always looking for volunteers—reach out to us and join the effort!
Partnering with St. John's, we're creating two new community spaces. This effort involves countless volunteer hours dedicated to painting, cleaning, and more. With St. John's generous support, we've been granted access to these expansive areas.
Mosaic had the pleasure of assisting in creating a vibrant space for children. This project was made possible thanks to the generous contributions of many, including donations of toys, paint, lighting, and the stunning mural gifted by a local artist. As a token of appreciation, St. John's allows Mosaic Sports to store our equipment in the room's closet. Acts like this help keep Mosaic's overhead low, enabling us to focus more on community outreach rather than just covering expenses.
Mosaic volunteers join St. John's Grounds and Gardening Team in activities like painting, mulching, pruning, and more. It's always a fun and rewarding day that leaves you feeling fulfilled—and it's a great workout too!
Current Project: Refresh of the Accessory Building
Located to the right of St. John's Parish Hall, the large accessory building, once used as a preschool, has been underutilized and in urgent need of repair. Mosaic has teamed up with St. John's to address this with extensive work, including asbestos removal, flooring, painting, electrical updates, lighting, heating and cooling, organizing, cleaning, and removing outdated furniture and equipment. Together, we're breathing new life into this space, with the goal of making it better than ever. While the journey is long, the reward will be great.
In appreciation of our efforts, St. John's has generously allowed Mosaic to utilize three separate spaces within the building. These include a large storage room, a multipurpose room used as a computer lab and therapy/counseling area, and additional storage space. This partnership enables Mosaic to thrive, focusing on outreach and community impact instead of worrying about overhead costs.
Mosaic is grateful for the continued partnership with St. John's and remains committed to maintaining a strong relationship with both the church and the Diocese of Maryland.
